Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What’s the proper way to measure my head for a custom Medical / Cosmetic wig?
A. Please see the diagram below. If more assistance is needed, we will be more than happy to help you via Zoom.
Q. How long does a medical / cosmetic wig last?
A. The lifespan of a wig depends on how often you wear it; with proper care our medical wig can last up to a year or longer. We advise you to buy at least 2 at a time, which will allow less wear and tear on one wig. Cosmetic wigs are less delicate than a medical wig – DCC wigs can last several years, however the lace may need to get replaced after 6 months to a year.
Q. What is the best way to care for your medical / cosmetic wig?
- Always brush and comb your wig daily to keep it free from tangles.
- Do not shampoo / condition too often – we recommend every 7 to 14 days.
- Use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioners
- Do not overheat with flatiron / curling irons. Set heat to 400 degrees or below.
- When not wearing your wig, place it on a Styrofoam wig head to help keep the shape.
